Overview Of Saint Catherine
Day 1:
Your knowledgeable tour guide will pick you up in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in Cairo and drive to St. Catherine’s Monastery. The journey will take approximately 10-11 hours, as you will be traveling via Sharm el-Sheikh Road.
Along the way, you will pass through the scenic Sinai Desert, with its rugged mountains and barren landscapes. You may also have the opportunity to stop at some of the interesting sites along the way, such as the Moses Springs, where Moses is said to have watered his flock, or the Dahab Oasis, a popular spot for swimming and snorkeling.
Once you arrive in St. Catherine’s Town, you will check into your hotel and have some time to relax and unwind. In the evening, you may want to enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the many restaurants in town, or simply relax in your hotel room and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.
Day 2:
Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Mount Sinai. The ascent of the mountain takes approximately 3-4 hours, depending on your fitness level.
During the climb, you will be accompanied by an experienced Bedouin guide who will lead you on the best path and share his knowledge of the mountain’s history and religious significance.
Along the way, you will pass by several important religious sites, such as the Rock of Moses, where Moses is said to have received the Ten Commandments, and the Chapel of Elijah the Prophet.
Once you reach the summit of Mount Sinai, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. You may also have the opportunity to witness the sunrise over the mountains, which is a truly unforgettable experience.
After spending some time on the summit, you will descend the mountain and return to St. Catherine’s Monastery. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the monastery’s museum, which houses a collection of ancient artifacts and manuscripts. You may also want to attend a religious service in the monastery’s church.
After visiting the monastery, you will have breakfast at your hotel before driving back to Cairo.
Additional tips:
The best time to visit Mount Sinai is during the spring (March-May) or autumn (September-November), when the weather is mild.
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
If you are planning to climb Mount Sinai at night, be sure to bring a flashlight or headlamp.
Respect the religious significance of Mount Sinai and dress modestly when visiting the monastery.
Itinerary

In the early morning at 2:00 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Mount Sinai. You will be accompanied by an experienced Bedouin guide who will lead you on the ascent of the sacred mountain.
After reaching the summit and descending at around 7:00 AM, you will be guided on a tour of St. Catherine's Monastery, one of the most famous monasteries in the world. The monastery is dedicated to Saint Catherine, a Christian martyr who was tortured to death for her faith. After the tour, you will have breakfast at your hotel before driving back to Cairo.
